I'd take a step back and learn how to compile from source first: https://wiki.asterisk.org/wiki/display/AST/Installing+Asterisk+From+Source  After reading through all that, you'll probably be able to figure it out.

But you probably want to know whether you already installed Asterisk via packages.. as then the whole process may be different.
