As per OP's message, CONFIG_HG is indeed 1000

[root at e1 ~]# grep CONFIG_HZ /boot/config-2.6.18-194.3.1.el5
# CONFIG_HZ_100 is not set
# CONFIG_HZ_250 is not set
CONFIG_HZ_1000=y
CONFIG_HZ=1000
[root at e1 ~]#


Not sure if I need to recompile the kernel.
I will not be able to do this myself anyways... not competent yet.
