[asterisk-users] mySQL connection testing

I found that after I typed :)

Trouble is - that variable gets triggered after every MYSQL command -
not just the disconnect one.  So it's no good to me I'm afraid.

MySQL.
   On exit, always returns 0. Sets MYSQL_STATUS to 0 on success and -1 
on error.
