If you're saying the equipment in your car won't generate DTMF tones, a
quick-and-dirty solution would be to use a pocket DTMF dialer.

Thanks, but as I said, part of the problem is that I can't use DTMF in
my car.  So having to 'press 1' is unacceptable.
