Hi Paulo,
It's right! I've changed the zend.zel_compatibility_mode to Off,
following your suggestion, and asterisk-stat is still working on PHP5.
Thank you!

Just for clarity: the default values for the two keys on OpenSuse 10.2
(updated to latest revision), and following, is "Off".
