[asterisk-users] Asterisk Problem

but what about the both of files (asterisk.ctl and asterisk.pid)
as i have done   mkdir /var/run/asterisk
and then 
 
[root at localhost run]# asterisk[root at localhost run]# asterisk -vrUnable to connect to remote asterisk (does /var/run/asterisk/asterisk.ctl exist?)[root at localhost run]#
