Remove this line, please . "channels" is a valid zaptel.conf line, but
will configure those channels for use with pciradio. IIRC
'channels=1-23' is an invalid line.

What do you see in 'cat /proc/zaptel/*' ?

Have you run ztcfg after editing zaptel.conf ?
