All -
We're getting closer to having a full roster of talks at this
September's Astricon (and will soon be publishing them) but I'm
certain that there are some folks out there who have sessions in mind
on which they'd like to speak who just haven't submitted their
proposals yet. Please submit those ideas via the web form here:

   http://www.astricon.net/2008/glendale/web/speaking.php

Areas of interest are: Advanced technical topics, configuration
samples, interesting hardware/software configurations, large-scale
installation overviews, how your business is succeeding with
Asterisk, sales techniques with open source, or any other topic that
you think would be useful to let other members of the Asterisk
community know about. Talks are typically 45 minutes including Q&A
session.

Astricon is a great place to meet people face-to-face, which is one
of the best ways to really get to know the rest of the community and
to help allow you to quickly communicate your ideas with others in a
way that is possibly more refined, rapid, and inspirational than the
short bursts of ASCII activity which we see here on the mailing
lists. Meet your on-line associates, vendors, developers, ecosystem
partners, and even competitors. I encourage everyone who has the
time and resources to attend - it's a great place to teach, learn,
and discuss.

SPECIAL: This year we'll be doing "Lightning Talks", which are
strictly limited to 10 minutes, and we'll do clusters of them. We
have a number of slots for these, and they are well suited for short
but very tightly focused discussions of a particular technique,
deployment, or "lessons learned" format. If you wish to have a
lightning talk, please note that your topic submission is for the
lightning talk. We will accept lightning talk submissions all the
way up to the day before the conference.

Where, When: Phoenix, Arizona. September 23-25.
