[asterisk-users] Dial(Local/${EXTEN}@longdistance)?

HI,
I dont understand the syntax of the dial application when used like this:

Dial(Local/${EXTEN}@longdistance)

i want to know what is this "Local" doing instead of Tech like SIP, IAX,
H323?
