[asterisk-users] colors in the console

You seem to start asterisk with safe_asterisk. That script starts
asterisk on a console of its own. Maybe it wa done to allow the use of
colors. 

If you want a plain 'asterisk' to run with colors, try the patch in
http://bugs.digium.com/view.php?id=9048
