Each situation is different, but I have a client that had significant
problems with echo on their PRI.  Asterisk's software EC (any of the
varieties) was not able to fully compensate for it.  When the customer
asked for redundancy, I wanted to get them a foneBridge, but at the
time, they didn't have an EC model so I threw that option out the
window.  So, I'd recommend paying the extra $475.  In the long run,
it's a drop in the bucket.
