[asterisk-users] "does /var/run/asterisk.ctl exist?" -- but Asterisk *is* running.

Be sure that it is looking in the right place.  If it is running as non
root, then the ctl file would be in a different directory.

It looks as though Trixbox does run as non-root.  The ctl is
actually /var/run/asterisk/asterisk.ctl.

Did you install from scratch, or was a previous version of Asterisk on the
box?
