I'm not from Digium, and don't know that hardware as well. Basically
there are two ways to build it:
1. Firmware is built into the .ko module
2. Firmware needs to be loaded from the usual place (/lib/firmware,
/usr/lib/formware or whatever).
In some earlier versions the driver supported only (1). Now it supports
either (1) or (2), IIRC, and this is a compile-time option. The default
is (2). The install target of zaptel (or a binary package of zaptel)
should place the firmware file for you. If they don't, you can do that
yourself.
So yes, it should Just Work. But I missed quite a few "minor details"
that someone with more relevant experince can fill in...
If you actually have a problem, do give some details, though.
