[Asterisk-Users] txfax application problem

Nobody seems to use txfax or does nobody have any problems with it?
I have sent mails to most lists and get no reply.
I cannot get a fax to go through with txfax.
I use a call file as a test and all I get on the receiving fax is a bunch of vertical lines.

my call file is:

what is going on here?
I have used latest spandsp-0.0.3pre23 with it's app_txfax.c and tiff-3.7.1 from source
I have also used just about every other spandsp and libtiff combo but no joy with sending the faxes.
