i have echocancel switched on, faxdetect is on, rx- and txgain is not used. 
(commented out).

my var/log/messages says:
Found a Wildcard TDM: Wildcard TDM400P REV I (4 modules)
...
Zaptel Version: 1.2.4 Echo Canceller: KB1


maybe it depends on different hardware revisions?
i don't know...
