[Asterisk-Users] Asterisk 1.2.4 (behind NAT) IAX registration "Refresh 0" problem

Hi all,

I've had a strange problem this morning and I know someone who has
reported exactly this problem to me too last week: -

I've setup a new server running Asterisk 1.2.4. Currently there is no
Zaptel hardware install (but there will be soon). This server is behind
a NAT router on an DSL line.

The remote IAX server on the Internet (which handles the call
termination / origin) is setup with a "friend" entry on the new server.

Whats happening is that the new * server does seem to register but "iax2
show registry" gives:

*CLI> iax2 show registry
Host Username Perceived Refresh State
212.147.134.3:4569 185 83.71.19.213:51951 0 Registered

That "0" for the "Refresh" is weird I think. And, after about 1 minute,
the new server stops receiving calls from the remote [Internet] IAX
server - when the Internet IAX server tries to make the call to the new
server it fails with "dial_exec: Unable to create channel of type
'IAX2'" for that IAX2 dial command.

I do have other * servers (older than 1.2.4) that are registered just
fine so I'm not sure if its to do with the newer version?

Has anyone else come across this?

Thanks very much,

Derek
