The directory file has an <sd> Speed dial index tag. The phone honours this index when displaying entries on the LCD screen and when the up arrow is pressed. However, it does not honor this order, and instead displays entries in alphabetical order, when you press the 'Directories' button.

There is an index in the configuration file which I believe it will obey. I'll try and find it later if  you haven't found it by the time I get to the office.

I don't think that's possible. We have the same issue.

I have a Polycom 601 with two side cars. I created a list of contacts in XML and it shows up on the side cars exaclty how I set it up in the XXXXXXXXXXXX-directory.xml file (in the order that I wanted it etc.). However when I hit the directories button and then contact directory I see the list in alphabetical order based on the last name. I want it to show up in this list as well in the order that I specified and NOT in alphabedical order. Thanks a lot.
