[asterisk-users] DMTF issues on voicemail on Zap

First, you want to set verbose to AT LEAST 666.  You may also want to
turn on debug messages in logger.conf

Most of my DTMF problems stem from a mismatch between the type of VoIP
DTMF asterisk is expecting and for what the phone is configured.
