As mentioned earlier, have a look at astlinux:

http://www.astlinux.org/

There are pre-built versions for soekris/wrap, and general x86
computers.  Kristian (the astlinux developer) made this run on a
gumstix, too, but I don't think there's a pre-built version of that. 
You could ask Kristian directly how to do this.
