I think what is meant is that SuSe already come with zaptel modules in 

       /lib/modules/`uname -r`/extra

The zaptel build process puts the its modules in

       /lib/modules/`uname -r`/misc

and when you load the modules 'modprobe' will pick up the wrong version.
