[Asterisk-Users] CLI and DNIS presented to Analog extension

Hi Craig,

Thanks for your comments.

My thoughts were that the phone calls would come direct into Asterisk on
a directly connected PRI and then sent out via some directly connected
FXS ports to the secondary system. All I need is to be able to present
DNIS and CLI received on the PRI out the FXS port.

I'm sure that Asterisk would have the CLI and DNIS information on the
PRI side but the question is, can it send it out an FXS extension
(making the FXS extension act like an analogue direct-inward-dial
trunk)?

I am trying to source information from the vendor of the secondary
system as to how they expect to receive the DNIS and CLI information.
e.g. as a DTMF dump between different rings. This is unfortunately slow
in coming.

Thanks again

Pete

Asterisk (or at least Asterisk - Stable) will not present DNIS to the
CLI.
If the number originally dialled is redirected then you will see the
redirected number presented rather than the original one. The original
number appears to be present in libpri but doesn't seem to make it into
asterisk itself where it can be read. I had some numbers in Adelaide
that
were diverted to Perth - When someone calls the Adelaide number I don't
see
the Adelaide number, instead asterisk will only make available to me the
Perth number that it has been redirected to.

The original number is still in there somewhere though, cause if I take
the
call and forward it back out the PRI to a dialogic based system it
reports
DNIS as the Adelaide number rather than the Perth number. It had me
puzzled
for a while til I worked it out.

Craig

My company is based in Australia and we have a need to be able to
present CLI (ANI) and DNIS to an analog extension. Currently our PABX
vendor is saying they can only deliver CLI between the first and second
cadence.

The system will collect calls via an aggregate of ISDN PRI services from
the PSTN and then direct them to the analog extensions in a hunt group
configuration. It is important that the analog extension be presented
with DNIS information as it needs to know who the call was originally
intended (another system is connected to the analog extension). I have
been told that you can get CLI+DNIS to an analog extension direct from
the carrier in the US however this is unfortunately not available in
Australia.

I am getting some headwind from my organisation about the possible use
of Asterisk which is based around the fear of the unknown. If anyone is
aware of this configuration being used with Asterisk then I might have a
chance of at least getting them to let me test the configuration.

Thanks in advance.
