[Asterisk-Users] Are there online forums instead of thisemailforum??

After reading some of the nonsense opinions about on-line communites, the
profanity and "shout down" style of posts here,
I don't think the UNIX forums are a good place to host this list. We don't
permit profanity in our community, and try to build a community where all
people, including women and others who are offended by profanity are
protected by a set of rules which keep the level of insults and profanity
down to a minimum or near zero.

In addition, the lag time between posting a message to this list and having
it delivered is a joke. I posted this message below at 2:35 and it was
delivered to me, a new subscriber, an hour later.

I am sorry to say, but those on this list who are aggressively advocating
SMTP mail with a lag time on a hour, posting profanity, and being impolite
to other posters are not helping the Digium community. These "shout down"
replies are absolute nonsense and I, for one, am surprised that Digium
supports this type of nonsense support.

Chuck,

You are 1000 percent correct.

Email does not build an on-line community. The search function is primitive
at best. Just like Mr. Bunn said in his original email, email lists for
support are a dinosaur, and people who have moved beyond dinosaurs are
considered intelligent in the evolutionary chain, LOL

If Digium agrees to decommission this noisy and unorganized list traffic, I
will set up a special category for Asterisk support at www.unix.com, free of
charge, and since Asterisk runs on Linux/Unix, this is a good fit. I will
give moderator rights to anyone Digium chooses.

Yours sincerely.
