[Asterisk-Users] No prompt after installing

Ill be..... Im so used to running -c that I forgot about it... Too much
scripting is bad! :)

That's normal unless you run asterisk with the "-c" option:

asterisk -vvvvvvc

Unless you want to connect to a running asterisk:

asterisk -r
