[Asterisk-Users] can callgroup be used to ring a group of phones?

There isn't much documentation for the callgroup feature.

Can this be used to ring a certain set of phones when a call comes in or 
can it only be used to pickup a call from a pre-defined pool of phones?

(I'm looking for the first option)
