There's always IRC...

If you use FireFox (and you should be if you aren't) then you can grab 
the Chatzilla extension.

Reason I say this is because then you'd be able to click on the 
following link and go straight to the IRC forum...

irc://irc.freenode.net/asterisk

I dunno about the /asterisk bit on the end, but if that doesn't work you 
can always type /join #asterisk after clicking on irc://irc.freenode.net

You sometimes get lag on IRC, but it's unlikely to be over 30 seconds...
