I installed Asterisk on the latest slackware distribution.  So long as
all the libraries and kernel sources are installed, I don't see why
there would be a problem building Asterisk.  The zaptel startup
scripts won't necessarily work with slackware, but it's easy to roll
your own.

What specific problems are you having?
