[Asterisk-Users] IAXy intermittent sound problem

In the absense of any other ideas, I decided to try the latest CVS version of
asterisk and zaptel. After compiling, I found that I couldn't get asterisk to start
with any device listed (i.e uncommented) in the zapata.conf file. The errors are
listed below. I have noload on both the alsa and oss drivers since the documents
indicate that they are only needed for console devices --someone correct me if this
is wrong-- and the oss drivers used by debian may be causing 100% cpu usage and I
want to avoid that possiblity while troubleshooting. Now, however, with the CVS
version, it seems the program wants access to the sound card. And, there is a
failure to load the zap module (as a result?).

I saw some reference to similar problems 2+years ago that indicated it might be a
problem with libiax. I tried to compile the CVS version, but it is missing files
("install.sh", some other file, and ironically, the file "missing" is missing).
Since I can't compile the cvs libiax, I am back to using the debian libiax0 and
libiax-dev. And since I can't get the CVS asterisk to run, I am back to RC2 and the
problems listed in my last email.

Please let me know what is going on here.

David
