[Asterisk-Users] Why is it called 'Comedian Mail?

Just a hint, a friend workin with me in an Asterisk project traveled 
recently to Mendoza (Argentina) and called to a bank using a big and 
expensive PBX that anwered:
"Meridian mail ... mailbox?"
sounds very much like the
"Comidian mail ... mailbox?"
in Asterisk. Just a coincidence??
