[Asterisk-Users] Finding a gateway for home use (UK)

 Recommend me a SIP gwateway so I can call real phones!

 I'm hoping to use my DSL line and linux hardware to setup one or more VoIP 
lines, to recieve calls and make outgoing calls.

 I have found packages designed for the business call centre user (or 50 phone 
lines) but none for home use.

 Sure, there are things like Skype and XTen, but I wouldn't like to be stuck to 
a particular platform or program.

 Is a subscription always involved and can I involve cheap linux hardware to cut 
costs?
