Does it show up in 'lspci' or equivalent?  What does your zaptel.conf 
and zapata.conf look like?  Does 'dmesg' say anything?  'tail -f 
/var/log/messages' even?  Poke around, if none of those places has 
anything useful, post your zaptel.conf and zapata.conf.
