over the years we've only had 1 NIU completely fail. usually
what happens (to us anyways), is that one leg will start flapping
(resetting, and since most NIU's nowdays default to ESF... (we
use SF) it will sit there and get RLOS (receive loss of signal)
errors) red alarm, fine (repeat)
