Kall8 offers VoIP or regular delivery of 800's.
We've used them for traditional 800 service for some time; they have
*fantastic* on-line tools which can configure the service (instantly),
change ring-to (instantly), generate reports, etc., etc.
We did have one bad experience with them, where they shut down our service
when they couldn't bill our credit card, because the card was renewed with
a new expiration. They got huffy on the phone with me when I was able to
tell them the new expiration but not the CVV2, since they had called me,
I was out and about, and the card was at home, filed away. It wasn't like
the account number had changed, and they had been successfully billing the
card for two years, so you'd THINK that they could have just taken the new
expiration and ran with it. (Things like this REALLY ANNOY ME...)
Anyways, most of their numbers are $2/month. You can port numbers to them
for $2/month. It's something like 6-7c/minute for normal ring-to a NA
POTS number. It's something like 5-6c/minute for VoIP delivery. You are
not locked into the VoIP, and can flip back and forth if need be.
Their service has made it possible for us to maintain an 800 # into our
dialup pool here, for travel purposes, and the real cool thing is we
maintain another 800 # which we can instantly redirect anywhere. So when
I'm at one of these jerky hotels that charges $2.00 for outbound calls
plus 50c/minute, but doesn't charge for toll calls, I simply dial up the
V.90 here, get cheap Internet connectivity, and if I need to make a call
to a customer, I can always point the floater 800# at their number, and
call them at a much cheaper 7c/minute.
I don't know about handling large volumes through their service. They do
not, to the best of my knowledge, offer IP T1's, though if you're in
Seattle, they do offer T1 delivery of their service.
obDisclaimer: I am in no way affiliated with Kall8 or sister companies,
except as a mostly satisfied customer.
