[Asterisk-Users] Timing Question:) (Loop/Internal etc).

Okay, I admit most of my T1 knowledge comes from the Cisco world so please
don't castrate me:-) I have several T1's running point-to-point between our
Cooperate office and our Branch offices, our service provider dose not
provide Loop timing on any point to point T1's. So typically when I would
setup a point-to-point link with Cisco equipment I would set one side to
Loop timing and the other side to internal, this prevents timing drift and
the T1's function perfectly.

What I am trying to setup is an * server on one side and a pbx on the other
aka * --> PBX. The PBX only has the option of Loop timing so I set the
asterisk card to use no timing (hoping that this is the same as setting a
Cisco for internal timing). However with my T1 analyzer I am seeing lots
of drift in the T1, this causes periodic voice quality issues etc.

Question # 1: Is asterisk capable of providing the T1 timing.

Question # 2: If asterisk is not capable of providing the timing and the PBX
is not capable of providing the timing are there any creative work arounds.

Thanks

Chris
