I think your veodr is bs. The ISDN E1 PRI specs is always A-Law. I'm not 
sure if that applies if you're using E1 CAS, e.g. R2 or MF. If in doubt, 
set your E100P to EuroISDN PRI mode and get the vendor to set the 
gateway to the same mode as well.
