Go back to my previous email and follow the link I have to the wiki.
It will show you a tool called ztmonitor which will let you see the echo.
I.e. if you mute the other end when you make your test call, it cannot 
feedback mechanically. Then speak into the mic. As it goes louder and louder 
it may retrain. Then when you make the bar go all the way, you know you're 
too loud.
