Seshu, I disagree completely with what you say.  I've have configure and
been using 7960G's (30 of them) with Asterisk over SIP for the last few
months and they work absolutely perfectly.

Xfastjackx, with regards to sending you the SIP firmware you need to contact
a cisco, or a cisco reseller and obtain the appropriate maintenance contact.

The normally ship with the Skinny protocol as default.  Upgrading is easy,

CISCO 7960G  is may not be a good decision. Without Call Manager, this is
garbage.

A friend of mine bought this a couple of days ago and had to return quickly,
to get the refund.

without any callmanager licence. Now I don't know if I can get
firmware-updates so could please someone send me the SIP-firmware? Is the
default firmware the "skinny" one? Wich would be better to use with
