[Asterisk-Users] compiling * pipe error

Building * on a machine with a minimal install of Mandrake, worked fine 
on non minimal install now I get this:

bison ast_expr.y --name-prefix=ast_yy -o ast_expr.c
make: *** [ast_expr.c] Broken pipe

If anyone can help me figure out what package I might have missed out 
when installing mandrake, it would be great.
It is possible that the security system is causing a problem, but am not 
sure here either, any help is greatly appreciated
