[Asterisk-Users] Voicetronix vs Digium FXO

Hi

We use the Voicetronix cards in SA and have tested them
extensively against the Digium.

I found that the Digium has many more settings that you may
tweak to get the best out of it, but have found the Voicetronix
to perform allot better. The Voicetronix has an onboard DSP which
helps with the processing of the calls "One big plus" and has never
outright dropped a call as I found happening with the Digium.

As far as echo goes the Voicetronix seems to have a better canceller
but that's just my opinion. We had some DTMF problems with the old *
version but those have all been solved now.

Fax detection and hang-up detect......don't get me started! I think it
is more of a case of me living in SA than the fax and hang-up detect
not working. We have tones that all run on 400Hz so the * detect gets
confused.

Well thats all I really got, hope its helps.

Doug

I would be interested in this as well, as I am far from impressed with
the TDM400P's we have.
Although that could be more to do with the driver support for the
motherboard / interrupt handling in the TDM400. However that's not my
problem if there is another vendor with better support then Digium will
lose out.

I have the Digium ISDN cards as well and I have had zero problems with
them so don't take this as a digium bashing comment but these mailing
lists are for "Asterisk Users" and not just "Digium fan boys". :-P
I am sure that the majority of mailing list subscribers are interested
in everything that can make their deployments run smoother.

Cheers
