I have an asterisk box doing VoIP and connecting to the telephone service.

I have local extensions which can all call each other, using FireFly on
Windows. All asterisk features I've tested so far (like voicemail) seem
to work.

However, when they dial an external line, it goes through an FXO card.
It dials just fine, but the call is silent. When we first started,
about half of the calls were silent, and the other half worked fine, but
now all of the calls are silent. However, the dialing works just fine,
and it remains on the line until one party or the other hangs up.

It's really strange.

I'm using Mandrake 10, A TDM400P w/ 4 FXO cards (for testing I'm only
using one at a time). I have the TDM on its own IRQ (IRQ 3), and I'm
not running X-windows, to make sure the card has plenty of time to
service interrupts. I've tried messing w/ the tx/rx gain, w/ callerid,
w/ echo cancellation, and I've updated both asterisk and the TDM drivers
to the latest in HEAD in CVS. All to no avail. The cards keep dialing,
and the conversations remain silent.
