[Asterisk-Users] Echo Training Question From a Newbie

I don't have an answer to your question about persisting the echo training
settings.

I can provide a summary of what I did to remedy my echo problems...YMMV. If
this works for you...then you won't care about the echo training.

I had enough echo on my 2 X100P cards that in in my home-office setup that I
really couldn't use a SIP phone(echo training didn't help). I finally
checked the wiring from the TNI to where I have the Asterisk server with the
X100Ps. I checked the condition of the connections and verified I didn't
have tip and ring reversed. I found that Qwest had put some bridge clips on
the wires I was using. I corrected this so the lines from the Asterisk
server to the TNI were not spliced and correct.

This fixed 95% of the echo on my lines! I adjusted the rxgain/txgain and
now I have hardly any. I occasionally hear something every once in awhile.

I've been using X-Lite with a USB headset on my Thinkpad and its been
awesome! I'm now going to buy a SIP hardphone.

Have you tried using a softphone like X-Lite with a USB headset? This may
tell you if it's a general problem or specific to your IP hardphones?

Ed

Sorry, I DID make it sound like it was only a problem on ONE of the X100P
cards. I should have said "from a SIP phone outbound on ANY of the X100P
cards".
