Red Carpet will give you some serious dependency problems later down the 
road.

The "Redhat way" way is:

up2date  --upgrade-to-release=<release-versision>

The easies way is to cruse on over to www.freshrpms.net
and get a copy of "apt" for Redhat and then do a

apt-get  dist-upgrade <release-versision>
