[Asterisk-Users] Asterisk and LINUX - linejack and digium

I need help installing asterisk. I would like to know what linux distro is
best and if it runs with linux mandrake 8. I bought a digium board but dont
have it yet. I would like to start testing (meanwhile) with a linejack. I am
not too familiar with linux but would like to learn about it and Asterisk.

if anyone outthere has a guideline or a step by step i will appreciate it.
