[Asterisk-Users] Asterisk - Different Subnet to phones (Cisco 7960)

Hi,

Today I was assigned a block of IPs by my ISP and decided to move the
Asterisk box onto a public IP.

I am also using 10.1.0.0/16 on my LAN, with the IP phones under 10.1.4.0/24

There is clear routing between the public and private IP ranges (no NAT).
Private can see public and vice-versa.

I changed the proxy config in the phone to point to the new IP address.

Previously the 7960 worked fine. Now, the phone (running SIP 4.4) will reset
as soon as you attempt to call out. It will ring on an incoming call, but
will reset as soon as the call is answered (sometimes during ringing). The
phone will also reset at random intervals with no activity.

The P0S30203 image will accept incoming calls, but it doesn't seem to want
to make outgoing calls.

I also tried putting the phone on the same subnet as the Asterisk box - no
change.

Just wondering if anybody has experienced this before, and what can be done
to fix it. I want to use SIP with external gateways and need the Asterisk
box on a public IP.

I've been trying for quite a few hours to fix this. I also had a look
through the archives, but the closest I managed to find was an issue where
the phones would exhibit this behaviour when the Asterisk box had multiple
IPs and the response headers didn't come from the expected IP. In this
instance, the Asterisk box only has one IP.

The phone does seem to register fine. Both the sip debug and the display on
the phone indicate this.

The only thing I can think of is that the phone doesn't like my IP address
block (it's a /29).

Any ideas?

I've just about given up. I'm going to put it all back to how it was and try
again another time.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated :)

-Shaun
