[Asterisk-Users] fxo cards

Dan,

People at Digium will answer this question more precisely, but as far as I
know there is no DSP in hardware and all the work is done by software (like
soft-modems, or winmodems), inside Asterisk and kernel modules. There are
specific routines in Zaptel and Asterisk's DSP doing all jobs: echo
cancelation, voice compression, tone detection, tone generation, callerID
detection ...

Only one correction: X100p is not a 'sound card', but a true 'FXO card'.
There is a builtin line interface in the card, whith DAA, line monitor, and
all stuff like that.

Regards,
-Eduardo
