You should also check to make sure that you have not accidentally
uncommented any text which should be commented at the beginning of the
file. That has caused a similar problem for me at one time.

Yes, I am looking at extensions.conf in /etc/asterisk/ directory. I am
getting the warning Cannot find extension context 'default' when
Messenger
4.6 tries to register, so before any dialling.
Regards Jan.

When
I did make, make install and make samples I thought everything went
alright.
With no modification to the conf files I tried to register from a
Netmeeting
4.6 client.I got the warning Cannot find extension context 'default'.
After
studying the documentation and conf files I saw that the default context
was
defined in extensions.conf and included a demo context. I noticed in the
verbose log that extensions.conf was not parsed. When I even deleted
extensions.conf I got no warnings or errors starting asterisk with
./asterisk -vvvc. I know you can include conf files in others, but
should
not extensions.conf be parsed by default. Who is willing to give me a
clue.
