Were you looking at extensions.conf in /etc/asterisk/ directory ?
Did you dial the existing extension ?

With no modification to the conf files I tried to register from a Netmeeting 4.6 client.I got the warning Cannot find extension context 'default'. After studying the documentation and conf files I saw that the default context was defined in extensions.conf and included a demo context. I noticed in the verbose log that extensions.conf was not parsed. When I even deleted extensions.conf I got no warnings or errors starting asterisk with ./asterisk -vvvc. I know you can include conf files in others, but should not extensions.conf be parsed by default. Who is willing to give me a clue.
