[Asterisk-Users] callerid= being ignored

I tried fromuser=1001 in the [Sip1] section and CALLERIDNUM still 
returns "<gs1>"

What is the "callerid=" directive good for if not setting the CALLERID, 
it doesn't seem to make any sense.

Does anybody know how to fix this?
