If you ask via e-mail they tell you always have to return the ATA when you
cancel the service.  A better way is to go to Amazon

and get it for $99.99.  As long as you never sign up for their service they
can't make you return the ATA.  There is talk Vonage is going to change
their TOS and pricing soon so some of this may change.

Or you could try a DTA-310 from www.packet8.com it does SIP and
they do not require you to return it.
