You can have multiple phone hooked up to one FXS but they will all be the same
extension (most homes are wired like this)

I understand that some FXS cards are multiport so you could have the same number of
extensions as are available on the card.  You can have more phones, but not more
extensions (see Point #1)

Make sure the cards your using are supported by the OS you're connecting them to

It's hard to show a proper diagram when you throw in channel banks and the internet
and start to show the permutations - the system schematic would mostly look like a
spiderweb.  I tried to diagram it, but it got way too complicated because there are
so many possible combinations (is someone else able to come up with a good diagram
... it would be great for the asterisk docs).  One of the tricks is to maintain
static IP addresses for the VoIP endpoints or some kind of a mapping system to track
dynamic IP addresses.


PS - I hope I'm right ... but this is my understanding of the possibilities
