I'll take this one: There are bunch of bugs in SIP REGISTER code regarding
timing and retransmissions. However, instead of trying to fix them, I'm
working on a larger rewrite of Asterisk's SIP stack to be a proper
implementation of RFC's finite state machine, and the fixes will be 
"free" to all the code, not just REGISTER.

This will also solve problems #1 and #2 that you mentioned.
